Worcester Bosch sight glass issue?

hi guys. I’ve heard about an issue with sight glasses on some of the Worcester’s but I’m unsure what the issue is. Any of you guys know anything about it please? What’s the procedure if you see one with a sight glass? Cheers guys

It’s usually the ones with the rectangle heat exchanger. Usually located where the ignition electrode is connected.

They have a red seal that goes hard overtime and needs replacing. Worcester have redesign it without the sight glass and a better seal.

So if I ever see one is it just an advisory? Is there much to changing them?

£40 and 3 wires two screws

Ha. I’ve got some electrodes to change in a Baxi platinum today. Do I really have to strip all the burner to do this?

In theory yes as you need to set the gap

But most don’t

Why doesn’t the gasket sit down on the electrode?

It’s the only way it can go mate. By forcing it I’m going to wreck the gasket.
