I had a call out to a radiator leaking and boiler now not working so popped out,

Rad had a sweat from it which is fine boiler not working went to look at it nice EA fault asked how long it was like this oo 2/3 days (away to F***) anyway check the condy trap which was chocked but not blocking into the block, cleaned it etc checked flue all fine when called for demand boiler goes into its ignition sequence but does not light, fan sounds slow but am not a worcester expert checked the inlet pressure which was fine 22mb cracked the top nut on the gas valve could feel the fan trying to stuck the gas but no gas passin the valve, normally i would of got my multi meter out but i was mega hacked off because i got called out at 5.30 to a massive leak and the boiler was knacked

I am going to pop up tomorrow any thoughts about the above its a heat only worcester greenstar 18 heat only.

Do you have you multimeter on the inlet when asking for demand and if so was there any move ment on your meter when trying to light also I've changed loads of flame sense
electrodes on theses.

shaky never moved on my u gauge bud, would that fire then cut out tho ?

Sounds like the gas valve from what you have said. You should see a drop on the inlet pressure as it sparks if there is any gas being let through the valve. The last few EA faults I have had have been either the electrodes or co2 ratio was out due to never being serviced and I had to reset the high and low on the gas valve to get it to fire up and then tweak it to get it to where it should be.

mfgs as i cant get it to speak there is defo no way of saying if its the gas valves yet. were the electrodes cause it to not to even light best way to check them, take the co2 ratio you got a reading when light

Best thing to do is put gauge on inlet. Turn off gas valve under boiler, fire it up and make sure it drops. This is much easier than looking for a small job as it can be hard to see a small drop on start up. That will tell u valve is opening. If not I presume it's a green star. I think there are 2 purple wires to gv, check for 240v if not pcb is probably faulty, if there is and gv is not opening then valve is at fault.

if gas is going to burner and it's not igniting it could be incorrect gas air mixture, main heat exchanger needs cleaning, faulty probes
