Hello,

Went to this boiler tonight. No demand. Turned boiler on pump ran for a few seconds then goes to lockout (blue light flashes).
Fan didn't kick in! I think it's the fan. My question is how do I check the fan for resistance? There are 5 wires on the harness. White wire, yellow wire, orange wire, brown wire and purple. Which ones do I test at for resistance?

Cheers

check to see if you get 240v across brown and purple....if yes then change fan...if you don't get 240v it will be board.

Also, check to see if you're getting voltage from the PCB just incase it's a faulty harness - can't imagine it is, but worth a check.

check theres 240v accross the purple and brown wires , if so then fans gone , if not then pcb, or check harness continuity at each end just incase, the fans are real simple to change

Check the code plug is in correctly also, if it's going straight to flashing lights and won't reset it could be that not fitted correctly. But it will most likely be the fan. And as people have said, 240 on the purple wire. You can disconnect the plug and wedge your multi meter probe in and just touch earth with the other probe. Fans are common for going on the Greenstar range.

also the fan pulses when you first turn the boiler on. so watch for a pulse indicates fan is normally ok if it pulses

I've had one today with fan pulsing unplugged wiring to fan put back never did it again and boiler working ok now.
