Hi all. I've just shaken hands on a job to fit a new heating system in fairly large house (7 bedrooms).
It’s a strip out of the existing one pipe system. New boiler, with new distribution pipe work and radiators.
Also new unvented cylinder, with circulation on the hot feed via a bronze pump. Again, all new distribution pipework.
In total about 5 weeks work.
Also there is a good chance I will pick up the work on the three bathrooms afterwards.
So this will be a useful work experience for the right person.
You'll be working with me, my father (who is very experienced) another plumber and another volunteer.
I can't afford to pay people for the work. There may be a gifted amount at the end of the work, but I cannot guarantee this.
Following on from this, we have another couple of large jobs in the pipe line (nice pun), so potentially, this could turn into a paid apprenticeship, though I can't make any promises.
The right person should be local, should be able to get themselves to and from the job (its near East Grinstead in Kent) and should have some basic qualification in plumbing, i.e. level 2.
I don't know what the response to this will be, but I promise you will learn a lot in the five weeks the work lasts, so at the very least I'm offering more than a lot of colleges!!
Cheers,
Danny
