Discuss Worrying new boiler install from grant provider in the Boilers area at Plumbers Forums

I recently had a boiler grant. My Green star Junior was replaced with an Ideal C30.
The installer did not install a spiral magnaclean etc until I asked how to empty it after the boiler was fully installed.
He then installed it after saying it wasn't necessary.
The grant included one.
The pre install survey correctly identified the condensate pipe issues as it freezes in cold winters, it runs into a sink waste externally pipe with a shallow angle. This wasn't addressed.
The system was drained from the boiler, so I guess it wasn't drained correctly.
I noticed the flue chimney was at an angle, at best given the lichen he reused the old flashing kit, or is this the old chimney. I did a roof survey with my drone. The chimney looks different to the Ideal C30 bundled one online.
Anyone give professional advice please I'm just a person who's learned what they know from videos online after lots of trouble with the Green star.
The grant provider is coming to test inhibitor levels etc as I told them it wasn't flushed properly.
The old water in the system was full of non magnetic silt the surveyor said it was from the heat exchanger breaking down. I don't want the new boiler to die early.

They've used the original lead flashing on the roof and pushed the new Ideal flue and weatherseal though it.
Looks O.K.
Probalby a lot better than the installer would have done if they'd tried to replace the lead flashing.

The internal pics of the flue show it to be new including the abortion of an attempt to seal the hole around it on the ceiling.

You'd need to take a look at the flue in the loft but I'd take a guess there aren't enough brackets on it.

Is the boiler downstairs, if so is the flue boxed in with access to each of the joints as it passes though the room above, or is it not boxed in or is it upstairs?

Hi there thanks very much for the reply. The boiler is upstairs in a small boiler cupboard/ room.
There are two 45 degree bends in the boiler cupboard before the ceiling I think, he had to get them from the local plumbers merchant during install.
I seem to remember seeing somewhere that the flue should be vertical and not slanted.
He reused the 'abortion' of the old flue ceiling plate, it's not screwed at the back either.
So I guess he tried to steal from the job the magnaclean, flashing kit and maybe a ceiling cover, suspected also didn't flush with cleanser or use inhibitor

They were supposed to fit a new condensate pipe system the surveyor told me. As you can see the current one broke last cold winter due to water expansion. Also when using the fill pipe on the boiler water pees out the fittings. The old boiler fill below the boiler works fine.

Contact gas safe and your grant supplier ask for an free independent inspection as your not happy

it’s pretty poor
The filter should be on the return
Unfortunately with this type of scheme it get thrown on the wall and the installer isn’t given enough time to do a decent job
