OK guys

What in your opinions are the worst boilers in the world?

I am commercial and domestic and my most hated foe which leaves me wanting to run for the hills or sit in the cws tank with my head in my hands is the MHS Strata 1.

after servicing about 50 of these over the summer i am started to get the knack for setting up the burners, but they seem really poorly made, forever replacing gas valves at 220 a pop x2 each boiler

most are giving out CO levels in excess of 10k ppm when you first arrive and can take hrs to set the burners up to run within acceptable tolerances 2 x burners and each needs to be set up through the range from low to high. 1 burner going out will knock them both off.

add to that an employer who is constantly on your back pushing you and pressuring for you to get through them, i am ready to walk...

I forgot what an awful piece of crap they are!

I had 4 dotted around the estate, all now in the skip.

All ferroli's can be added to the list.

Why not just say that every broken boiler is a PITA, some of course are worse than others.

Duo tec He are nice ideal logics . Newer kestons ok. Bbu and appolo pleasurable. Isar and icos fine if your used to them same as 105 and 105he. Ideal Mexico... Most boilers over 10years old

Bad ones are
Any Worcester made after 1998 / over crowded and build quality of a £2.50 toy from market& leaky
Glowworm xxxxxcom / leaky
Britany / plastic mess
Ariston / electrics suffer from induced voltages
Keston c50 - stupid flue coupling perishes pcb cooks and conny leaks
Potterton turbomax heat stores / servicing is scary and it's built like a Worcester.... Can't move bottom end for love nor money!

Any Mhs boiler are **** especially the strata, second that on gas valves. Replacing a fan on an ultramax for nearly £1k wtf! They are all rip offs of other manufacturers too. Strebel come a close second!

Worcester began the slippery downhill slide beginning with the CDi combi. Anything before that was a decent appliance. At a presentation by Worcester years ago, their rep said the diverter on the cdi can be removed and replaced in 15 minutes. He got some stick over that one.

Boilers that apparantly just need a service but when you get there nothing works

Boilers that magically go into hot water mode when your doing a fga test. That sends me nuts!

Or worse, magically got into hot water mode when you doing a tightness test, doh should have turned it off at the switch!
