do any of you guys advertise with yell, com. have an offer from them for 32.70 / month for ten months for a years advertising. this include them setting up a web site for me aswell, question is this a good offer and do any of you find it useful, cheers

one of our registered installers spent his money on this after being made redundant and going self employed.

He said all he gets is canvassing calls, almost every day. In 8 months, that's all he has had.

we tried waste of money, thought it would be the way to go,all these poeple using tinternet

save your money mate as said above we have not had many calls about 1 in 3 months save your money.

Not had any calls from them,

Oh and no calls from the yellow pages either...

Thats strange really my advertising paid for it self in week one. Dont get me wrong I am not inundated with work from it but will get 1-2 jobs a month so I consider it worthwhile.

aftter £1,500 for the year for yell.
5 junk calls a day,
6 quote calls in the year.
one £60 job.
what do you recon?.

quite honestly in retrospect, if i spent the same on leflets, i could of gained around 20 jobs locally on law-of-averages, fact.

All the years on the web and all the thousands of searches I have done,I have never used or thought about using yell .com
And do not know anyone that does, why would I think any worth while possible customers would?

Been with Yell.com now for 9 months, total utter waste of money.
Had no calls, except from people trying to sell me more advertising.

Better spend your money on leaflets and go door to door. :)

I've had a (very) few enquiries via Yellow Pages but only have a single line free entry with name and telephone number.

Frequently when I want something in Yellow Pages I only look for their location to me and often ignore adverts as firms without advertising tend to be busy, well established and know what they're doing. Prices of these firms are often cheaper as well because, being a customer, I'm not paying for their added marketing costs.

Reverse psychology I suppose.
