Who watched the debate last night?

Who watched the debate last night?

Hi Everyone,

Did anyone watch the debate last night on tv? If you did, what did you think of it? They were annoying me shouting over the top of each other - the lady was like a referee and I didn't think she controlled it very well!

Has it made you think about how you will vote?

To me it seems everyone is full of empty promises.

Tiling Concern and Need Some Advice. TIA!

Tiling Concern and Need Some Advice. TIA!

Hey All, So we're in the midst of a project and it's been interesting. Is there a type of edging that can be used to "hide" and/or protect the edges of the tile that are protruding? While some are flush many are not (I realize the walls are uneven and the thin set was not troweled well). And, can/should the gaps be siliconed or backed first then siliconed?

Also, is no ledge acceptable (it was a prefab wall and we thought it...

Electric underfloor heating onto concrete floor.

Electric underfloor heating onto concrete floor.

I have a customer who lives in a 200 year old property. The lounge floor he wants tiled which is very thick concrete. He wants electric underfloor heating but I'm concerned he'll lose too much heat into the concrete.
He's gone with tumbled modular limestone and the floor is quite wavy which they want to keep but all the insulation I've come across is boards which will flatten the floor out too much, ( he wants to follow the slopes on...

Topps Tiles in-store or online - Genuine Feedback, Positive or Otherwise. I used to work in a Topps Tiles store in Newcastle Under Lyme, not far from the Untold Media office as weird as that seems.

Herringbone floor…advice needed please

Herringbone floor…advice needed please

Hi all,

We employed a tiler to lay some rectified wood effect planks in a herringbone pattern…

The grout width was set at 2mm…

The floor is yet to be grouted but to our untrained eyes we have noticed some strange things. For example in one area the grout width was 3mm + and in another area there is no grout width! Please see picture with red arrows.

I asked him to explain why this was and he blamed the tiles…

Is this acceptable?
Many thanks...

Tiling over screed/plywood floor with height differences.

Tiling over screed/plywood floor with height differences.

Hi guys.
Im a carpenter who has tiled a fair few floors over the years as i fit a lot of kitchens.
I have turned up today on a job and have been offered the floor tiling with ceramic tiles.
Its a big area (64sq/m) but a third of it is a new extension with a screeded floor. There is then a 12mm expansion gap before it hits a plywood floor on joists for the rest of the area.
To compound the problem even more the screed is 10...

Spam Accounts

We have been hit by hundreds of spam accounts that are somehow passing the human anti-spam captcha while simultaneously being an automated bot. I've seen stranger things happen.

I've stuck all suspect users into a user group so I can monitor and erase them a bunch at a time.

No humans should have been affected BUT if you have recently registered but not yet posted anything, and have tried to log in TODAY and the forum says "NO ACCOUNT WITH EMAIL ADDRESS CAN BE FOUND"...

Testing Footnote - Schluter

Testing Footnote - Schluter

Just testing this footnote that'll help users asking about Schluter Systems, Kerdi, Wedi - and even just the word wetroom will trigger the footnote to show below the posts in a thread. Should be first page of a thread only.

These footnotes will be styled in due course, I'm first off just getting them working and loading right, and when a thread mentions 'adhesive' and 'wetroom' the footnotes should share the traffic 50/50. If my coding is any good. ha...

TilersForums 2.0 - Come read about it, and be part of it, for free!

Hi everybody,

I've come up with a new way that I'd like the forum to work. I've built a quick test site here: tilerstalk.co.uk/forums/tilersforums-2-0-test-forum.411/ (now running live on tilersforums.com)

All forums tend to be on the cliquey side, its in their nature. New members may appear less knowledgable because they're not contributing as much when in fact they could be an expert in a certain area of the...
