Have I got this right, for the Quooker tap to do all it's supposed too it needs a boiler, CO2 cylinder and a refrigeration unit installed and obviously a power supply all in the cabinet under the sink?

Most mixer spray taps are designed for mains pressure hot feed, you may find a pressure/flow booster is required for the tap of choice, look for one with slip joints to enable easy fitting without taking your hot water system apart.

Tank if forty years old so think it's out of warranty by now, but thanks for your concern. 🤔 Just in case, it is not porous and has not UV degraded. 😇

Prone would suggest common, I probably get a couple of reports a year and thus far seems to only be very slimline tanks with certain moulded shapes in the side. If the tank has support struts running straight through the middle...

Only on steel and possibly modern twin wall tanks, on single skin plastic tanks you have to drill your own 30mm hole and screw the outlet down onto the gasket supplied. See here, think I have posted this before: Fitting The Atkinson...

Are the floats prone to getting caught on the sides of oil tanks? specifically those without internal struts and round, what would be the best place to instal one in a round tank, central is not an option due to the lid, one side near...

I would be more worried about what looks like an electrical cable running across the bottom of the cabinet.

No to put too fine a point on this, but would you like to be called a "Slum tenant" shows a mind set.

MikeJhn replied to the thread New build flood.
With everything turned off, check to see it your water meter is turning, if not check outside for puddling in grass areas, is this new build on a flood plain? Ask the builder for his insurance details, that should prompt then into...

Sustained cold above ground will eventually migrate through the exposed pipe/oil to the underground pipe/oil, insulation above ground may prevent this or delay this happening.

I got this from Atkinson's, they are having problems posting themselves: Hi all, we spotted threads on this forum, tried to reply but the system took the long post as spam so thought I would register to answer any queries. Top off...

That can't have anything to do with the Atkinson tank top feed, but lack of insulation to the pipe?

MikeJhn replied to the thread Bubbling shower trap.
First off take the shower head off and use the shower pipe at full volume directly into the trap, take off any restrictions like a hair trap first. I have to jet wash my shower pipe from outside at least twice/year due to low fall and...

Few sunk to the bottom smacks of not fit for purpose, how long had they lasted? "Upto now not gelled up" suggests first hand experience is that so?

MikeJhn replied to the thread total blockage in kitchen sink.
Check your first manhole outside it could be backing up from that once open rod from that end.

@ShaunCorbs Thanks for the response, what sort of problems do they give if the the tank goes past half empty? Is it lack of feed due to loss of pressure from the pump? Or some other problem I have not accounted for? Tank and pipe are...

MikeJhn replied to the thread Atkinson tank top oil feed.
Bumping this up, if anyone has experience of top feed oil tanks, should the oil line be insulated up the side of the tank, if so how do you attach the insulation to a plastic tank? Pipe being used is green PVC covered, would this be...

Yes particularly hot/cold area that causes lots of condensation in the tank, as its a single skin plastic tank it does not have a rear drain point so frequent pumping out and the problem of disposal, the top feed would delay the...

The lack of knowledge shown by casting the slab without any forethought for service, is quite worrying for the rest of the off grid build, do you have any professionals involved, and I don't mean builder Bob from the pub.

As title anyone using one, good? bad? ugly? has to feed through a de-aireator to the boiler, but should not be a problem, my question is, should the oil line be insulated up the side of the tank, if so how do you attach the insulation...
