Hi,
I wondered if anyone could explain how the gas fire ignites and gets its gas supply on the Thorn Housewarmer S Back Boiler & Fire combination. I'm happy with lighting the back boiler pilot and firing it up, but not clear on the fire i.e. is it electric ignition or does it have its own pilot...
Evening all. Asked by customer to look at new unvented installation he recently had done by others. Number off issues picked up on the install but the my main concern was the fact they converted the back boiler from open vented to a sealed system. Expansion vessel is way undersized. Am I right...
My house is a 1930's semi with a back boiler behind an old fashioned gas fire in the dining room. It is serviced by B.Gas every year and so far so good. But...I guess it's really uneconomical as my bills are very high and also parts are getting harder to come by. So I need to change but what to...
Hello Lads,
as above I am having an upcoming boiler conversion. I am a little bit concerned about few things. First of all it is a council flat which makes the installation much harder. Furthermore I am having just concrete walls and floors which is really hard to run pipe works throughout the...

Hi all
Can someone steer me in the right direction diagnosing a glow worm 45/2 back boiler issue. It’s cutting out after about 10 minutes in operation. Always serviced, clean as a whistle. Pump is ok, header tank is ok. Motorised valve is ok. Any thoughts would be much appreciated.
Many thanks

Hello
I've had a google around but haven't found anything that suits my situation.

Hi
I am moving house soon and our buyers asked for a gas check last minute. I organised this quickly and had no worries about our gas system.
We have a Bermuda back boiler in our house and two gas men have said it is 'spilling'. This was tested through using a match in the front fire. We had...
Hi i have an old back boiler in a ground floor flat. The expansion tank is in the bedroom cupboard and above it is a black tank that is full of cold water with a ball cock in it. This has been making a constant runing water sound for a week and i have only just noticed the overflow outside is...
