I have a basin waste and a bath waste that ideally I would like to connect together - to empty into a hopper.
So can I connect a 32mm basin waste to a 40mm bath waste - if so using a reducer or is there some 32mm to 40mm T?
Or should I upgrade the basin waste to 40mm if possible?
Ideally...
I have an oval bath (which I believe is Ideal Standard) with a 2-piece plastic surround. I am trying to locate a suitable plastic strip that will join the 2 halves together – as shown in the attached photo. The one shown has small grooves in it that the plastic fits into. However, I cannot...
I need to connect a boiler condensate into a bath waste.
It will have to be after the bath trap and im worried it will empty the boiler trap when a bath full of water is dumped.
Are there any clever solutions to get around this?
Hi,
I recently detected some leaks from my bathroom. Part of the issue was water escaping from the bath screen.
A plumber refitted and sealed the bath and screen. Unfortunately, the water is still escaping near the base of the hinge of the shower screen.
I have attached a picture of the base...
Hi Folks, my 2 way diverter tap in the bath is leaking but I can't find an isolator. I have a feeling it's buried under the tiled-in bath.
I don't have any experience with plumbing but does anyone recognise this type of diverter and is there anyway of replacing it(or the cartridge) without...
Hi there,
My twist pop-up bath plug isn’t working and when trying to repair I’ve made a few daft decisions which have led me to the position I’m now in.
I first of all adjusted the plug itself by lengthening it using the screw underneath. This didn’t work, so I looked at the twist dial. I...
I have a shower mixer tap on bath, flow on left temperature right but leaking from temperature control on right side, found a replacement but the flow and temperature reversed, is that ok
Situation: Had a boiler system conversion. From Potterton boiler with Gledhill storage tank with on demand hot water to Veissman Combo with on demand hot water. 2 bed semi with only myself and wife living here. Unfortunately used iheat service which has no real customer service. Have had the...
Hi there. New diy member here. I am refreshing my bathroom and the taps are currently fed cold mains and gravity hot from the loft. There only seems to be a very small cold water tank in the loft.
I am looking at putting a bath filler mixer tap on the bath but concerned about the unbalanced...

I am really confused but I have a foul brown smelling water coming from this bath in the material it’s self!! Sometimes loads of it I only installed it a month ago! Help!!

Hi, hope someone can help
My 1st time of resealing my bath.( after falling in the water twice while doing behind the taps😂) I left the water in bath for 30 hours after and then discovered I have a leak after taking a shower. Can I put more sealant over the fresh sealant or is there something...
Hi, can anyone advise on where to get a replacement smaller unslotted waste for an old cast iron bath please? The existing waste appears to be 1 1/4 BSP, not 1 1/2 as you'd expect. I'm including some photos of the existing installed bath waste next to a new 1 1/2 BSP waste to show the...
Hi, the pop up plug system has broken and needs replacing. I would like to replace the whole lot. My issue is trying to remove the waste drain cover from the bath isn't what I'm expecting. There is no screw holding the trap to the plug section in the bath. As the bath is fiberglass, I don't want...
Hi
I have an in-wall thermostatic shower value set of an unknown brand. The thermostatic valve in the middle is no longer constrained by the lung internally so I can wind it out for what are boiling showers, also to get cold water I need to turn clockwise until its actually home, pressing the...
Hello,
I’m doing a DIY bathroom job and would be very grateful for some advice.
The bathroom is in a 2nd floor flat in a converted Victorian house. The bathroom walls for the corner into which the bathtub and shower will sit appear to be dry walls with wool insulation, foil backed...

Hi All
I'm about to fit a thermostatic bath/shower mixer tap to create a shower over the bath. As it's a new build property there is already a TMV under the bath to limit the temperature of the hot water.
Should I remove the TMV under the bath and rearrange the pipe work to give single hot and...
Hi all, I have a question. We have just moved into a new house a week ago. I have just been to the toilet and flushed.. the water rose a bit more than usual then went down, but then water came up my shower drain. We have just had really bad rain and hail here, is this maybe the reason why the...
