    Tightening galvanised pipe and fittings

I have a threaded galvanised tube between 2 T-pieces. I can’t screw the t-pieces onto the tube - they’re already sealed to the spur. So the only way I can screw the pipe between them is to screw it all the way into one side then screw it halfway into the other (by unscrewing from the first end)...

Where can I find compatible fittings?

This a mix of material pipework and sizes. It's steel (what size?) and 35mm copper 28mm copper. I need to replace the leaky bit and tidy it up if I can. Where can I get the reducer from what I think is 2" steel to 28mm copper? Any pointers?

    Help sourcing imperial fittings/adaptors

I have a 27mm OD semi-flexible black pipe (PE?) feeding mains water to an annexe. I am struggling to source compression fittings to adapt this to metric pipe so that I can use standard modern components downstream. I belive the installation is about 50 years old. Is this what used to be 3/4"...

    Corrosion on Pipe / Fittings

Hi, I am probably being unduly paranoid here but I noticed under our kitchen sink that there is some corrosion evident on a small section of copper pipe between compression fittings on the hot water feed. There are take offs for an outside hot and cold tap together with isolation valves and...

It's not every day I deal with 110mm soil pipes, therefore I do not have a selection of different fittings at hand to try what combination fits my needs. I have therefore been trying to locate on- line the actual sizes eg length of push-fit tee, spread of branch, before I can purchase the best...

    What are these weird-a** pipes/fittings?

Never seen them before. I just need to cap them off as they come out the wall... What would I need to do so (properly / safely)? Any idea why the fittings are all different colours too? Thanks

Is it ok to use male tapered fittings for female flexi ends?

Or does the fact they are tapered mean the flexi might work it's way loose? e.g. https://www.NoLinkingToThis/p/flomasta-sfu-0269-brass-compression-adapting-male-elbow-15mm-x-1-2-/355kr

    Faulty Hep2O fittings?

Hi there, I am hoping someone can give me some advice. We have had two leaks at home in the last 2 weeks; luckily we were in for both events and managed to get the water turned off pretty quickly so it is not a massive catastrophe. Both times, a fitting popped off a pipe about 15 minutes after...

brass, stainless, or EP/plastic for Well service line fittings

Where the black polyethelene service line enters this particular structure is by far the most freeze-prone area. The structure is an elevated "mini house" with an insulated, heat-taped plenum taking the poly from below frost line up into the space between floor joists. But, power outages...

    Advice on shower tower fittings

Hi, I have a shower tower fitted and my flexi pipes (500mm) are about 7cm short of where they need to be to fit onto the mixing valve in the back of the shower. I cannot move the shower up and the next longest flexi pipe I can find is 900mm, which is about 830mm longer than I need.. Would a 15mm...

Old pipe sizes and new fittings

Hi, my wife decided she wanted new modern bathtaps instead of the old 'supertaps' we've had since we bought the place. So we bought the new taps and I tried fitting them yesterday but the new taps don't have the same fitting length as the old ones, this wasn't aproblem on the hot supply as...

How to remove these shower screw fittings from the pipes?

I'm retiling my bathroom, and so everything in this photo minus the copper pipes must be removed. Anyone familiar with these screw fittings that go over the pipes? They have filed down areas to get an adjustable spanner in there to turn them, but when I grip the copper pipe and the screw...

    Garden tap fittings query

Hi - I'm a DIYer, successfully fitted an external garden tap, supply sourced from downstairs loo, standard 13 mil copper pipework, in-line cut-off. WEATHER PROBLEM - its worked fine for years EXCEPT twice now I've had split pipe due to freezing (at -8C ) despite foam protection. My thinking -...

    Solder fittings advice pls

When using solder ring fittings is it important to have one end of the pipe open to allow pressure and fumes to escape? I had a terrible job trying to solder a short section of pipe with an isolation valve closed on each end. It wasn't till I redid the work and opened one end that I could get...
