Why are Cylinders rarely in the loft for Trad. Gravity Vented Systems?

Sorry if I come at this form the wrong direction. I'd like to move my vented-cylinder into the loft. I run two shower-pumps too. I realise a sealed-cylinder is the easy route. Sadly I've not got much mains pressure. Combination boilers don't really have the grunt for fire-hose showers. I'm...

Hi guys wonder if someone could help. Hot water on a gravity fed system (y plan) is far too hot. Tried swapping cylinder stat but is the same. With hot water on the boiler fires up even when cylinder stat is set at 50c. If I turn the stat down lower the pump and boiler go off. Customer has...

A Fluidmaster fill valve works well on gravity fed?

The standard ones bundled in a pack with the flush valve from the sheds/screwstation/toolfix don't perform well on gravity fed in my experience. I've heard one of the 'pro' version has a restrictor you can remove to make it work better? If so :- 1) Which valve is this? 2) Does it perform well...

Aqualisa Quartz Gravity Pumped QZD.A2.EV.14 Shower

I have a customer who wants an unvented HWS, they have a Aqualisa Quartz Gravity Pumped QZD.A2.EV.14 Shower which has a max pressure of 1 bar. My question is if I fitted PRV's set at 1 bar, on both H & C services to the shower pump once the UVHWS system is installed, would this be sufficient...

    Gravity fed to combi ring?

hi. Am redoing a bathroom, taken out an old airing cupboard. When people installed the new combi (15ish years ago) they put a ring in, see pics. I am guessing there was no access to bury it or take it out. I would like to know, why they put it in. Obviously it’s got an air vent but I now have...

Gravity hot water system plumbed into central heating circuit.

Any body seen this b4? I have just moved into a bungalow and it has a Baxi Boston boiler installed around 20yrs ago (still working). Whilst up in the loft I noticed there was only one cold water tank and no header tank for the central heating. The hot water and central heating vent both...

Gravity feed system sucking air open vent

Evening all, I have been researching what could be the reasons behind my system sucking air through the open vent on the gravity feed central heating system. What I know.... Do unvented cylinders require a 'gravity' drain?

Hi again. Exploring options for my bro's flat. One is to convert to a pressurised system. The preferred location for the new unvented cylinder would be where the current vented one is in his airing cupboard. Problem is, it would be tricky to get a gravity drain from this to the outside (he had...

Is it time for manufacturers to make a gravity feed/expansion combi boiler on the primary side. When I was a plumber many years ago I think about 1982 I remember installing an optional gravity feed boiler instead of a presure system. I was never called back to the boiler. Any thoughts
