    Air Source Heat Pumps

I have been thinking of going on this course but my only reservation with it is reaching out to the right clientele, has anyone made this transition and started fitting these units? And if so, was it worth doing the course for the amount of work gained afterward?

Heat Group Magnaclean copy. Parts of it are excellent.

I was tidying up the boiler pipework on a bungalow I bought and plan to move into. Being a cheapskate, I considered keeping the Heat Group magnetic filter. It was like the old Magnacleans with offset plastic tails and I knew it would be messy and fiddly to fit, but although it seemed a bit...

UK Can a HW cylinder be used as primary heat source for CH only?

Hi, I would like to know if a HWC can be used as a primary heat source for a new central heating system. My idea is to heat the water in the cylinder in advance for space heating, then use a circulating pump to distribute around the home in radiators. The cylinder will contain radiator water...

Underfloor heat pipe specification and pipe centres and radius bends.

In my attempt to future proof my underfloor heating design to maximise the heat output at the lowest possible mean water temperature, I am planning pipe 16mm dia pipe centres at 133mm governed by the nature of the installation (3 pipes per space between floor supports at 400 mm ctrs. -...

Heat Exchanger with AGA and heat pump

Hi All I have a client asking whether they can still use the AGA to heat rads once the air source heat pump is in. I think it is possible using a heat exchanger so the low pressure AGA and high pressure heat pump systems don't connect. I've seen it done on biomass systems but wonder what the...

Vaillant Sustain 28kw Combi Heat Input

Could anyone tell me whether the Vaillant Sustain heat input is noted in gross or net please. I was sure it was NET but someone has said it's gross which makes no sense at all. I work all my gas rates to NET so if I'm wrong my gas rates will be way out. I've included the data badge.
