Hi all, sorry for the long post.
Looking for some advice. Went out to a ground floor flat to look at fitting an unvented cylinder.
Problem is the airing cuoboard is in the middle of the flat with no real way to get the discharge to outside. He has had another quote which allows to run it into...
Hi All,
Currently doing a new build that has underfloor heating downstairs and radiators upstairs. From the image provided can anyone tell me in order from left to right what each one of these pipes does by the way the plumber has marked them with tape. Thanks.
Hi, Sorry for posting the obvious to the more experienced of you, I've just come across a meter in a box with the gas pipe going out through the back via the spigot, The transporter had apparently come and changed the regulator a couple of weeks ago, my issue is that there is a lot of what looks...
Hi,
Just joined the forum.
I have a large log burner which has one and a quarter inch BSP fittings.
I wish to change the layout of the pipes after removing an old oil boiler. The pipework is rock solid in the fittings and even using a Stilson with a length of scaffold pole attached won't...
Hi All,
I am doing some work in newly bought house and the plumber had looked at the Valiant boiler and said it was very dangerous and needed piping inc few other bits of work but wanted to know how much that would cost as he quoted me £1600. he said the boiler is a good one and its fine just...
So, I'm looking to move from a gravity fed system to a sealed, and move the cylinder and boiler to the opposite side of the property!
I'm wondering if you guys can help advise on pipe runs, so I can do this part myself. I know its tricky do such a think without looking in person but i've...
I have recently read a couple of posts on here that specify that the pressure loss from the meter to the applicate can be a max on 1.5 mbar.
I always understood it to be 1.0 mbar. Has it changed without my knowledge? I am due to resit my assessment soon so it was a while ago.
Mark.
I have some pipework at the back of my house which I'm told is for an Outside tap (see image). However I'm not sure what fitting is required to install a tap, the pipework looks to narrow for tap fittings available.
Any help welcome.
I did a powerflush a few weeks back and when I was dumping the water the flow dropped immediately. So I rang tech support (Anton) for my pump and he said it's because there's a blockage in the pipework - I tested the pump itself which was fine.
It's a flat with ground and first floor. All rads...
Hello UK Plumbers
I've sketched the current arrangement for handling my kitchen waste water on the attached diagram. The pipes have become brittle with age (>25 years AFAIK), I don't like the discharge end which tends to get blocked with leaves and wets the concrete before it gets to the gully...
At a job to repipe a part 1 pipe system which has been teed from I think from pipework under boiler under floor to feed a flow/return section of the house.
My understanding of a 1-pipe system is that the pipework flowed in series.. from the first rad to the last and then returned to the...
Hi all,
I am a homeowner, please accept my apologies if this forum is trade-only or I am asking a question covered elsewhere (I had a good look first).
Basically, British Gas came to service the boiler recently in my flat. The engineer wanted to check the meter but when I told him it was...
I have a house where the pipework is all single pipework loop with t's off through the rads and back into the same pipework. The problem is temp control and water flow through the rads. There are some TRVS installed on some of the rads. The problem is the rads arent getting hot enough. The...
Hi,
I am looking for advice from the skilled and knowledgeable as it seems very hard to pin down a plumber to look at all the issues I have without several call outs and costs.
I bought a house about 6 months ago (30year old) and got straight on with some renovations. As part of this process...
Hi all,
I've just replaced a Mira event that worked fine for 15 years with 'up and over' pipework, which should have been 'down and under'. There's now air in the shower - of course - and I was wondering if there's anything I can fit that will let the air out. I am aware that I should have...
Hi all, I have just rejoined the forum and would like advice on a problem I have experienced with a kitchen radiator. We originally had two small radiators fed by 8mm micro bore pipe fed from a sub 15mm pipe manifold which in turn connected to 28mm main manifold supply and return manifolds...
