Hi All,
Hope to get some advice.
Fitting new bathroom with free standing bath so need to move feed and waste. I’ve a problem with the soil pipe as it’s current location from the top will be too high when putting back floor. Ideally I need to come off the bend so as to give myself more height...
Got to plumb outlet from washing machine into open vertical length of 110mm plastic pipe at floor level. Any suggestions for best way of doing this? Presume I'll need a trap? Use 40mm stand pipe and u-bend? How best to join to 110mm and cap the 110 pipe?
Hi
I currently have a downstairs toilet that drops into a waste pipe that exits through the wall and into an inspection chamber.
I need to extend the underfloor waste pipe to the next room for a new kitchen. As I am digging up the floor and re-doing the bathroom is like to confirm the best...
Hi guys.
I'm going to put my washing machine adjacent to my bathroom.
The path of least resistance to plumb the waste pipe would be under the bath tub.
Is this allowed?
If yes, would there be any issues with the bathtub draining slower or the washing machine waste coming up into the bath tub...
Hi all,
This is my first post, had no option but ask more experienced people before making expensive mistake.
I would like to put my WM on opposite side of a sink where waste pipe goes at present. I will have enough space to put tall pipe and p trap behind WM. I am planning to use 40mm pipe...
Hi guys.
As some of you here know I don’t do plumbing work, 99% of my knowledge lies within oil fired heating so forgive me if this is a stupid question.
I had to attend a commercial property today (close friends family run business). Complaint was wash basin wasn’t draining water away, easy...
hi guys, got called out to local cafe regarding leaking waste pipe. took 32mm pipe, 40mm pipe, solvent weld, compression fittings, elbows, tees and couplings, got to job and bugger me if it ain’t 60mm pipe that has cracked on a tee in the most awkward place.
Everything is fitted with solvent...
Hi Guys
Can someone take a look at my sketch please, I’ve got a bath waste going into the stack at 180mm centres to the toilet waste plus the shower waste at 90 degrees to the toilet waste.
In the second picture it shows what is permissible.
Can someone confirm if I do it to my sketch it will...
Hi all, can anyone assist me with locating somewhere from which to purchase a long length (at least 4 metres) of 40mm diameter standard flexible sink waste pipe? I have been searching all over the place and nowhere seems to sell it in long lengths, only the standard lengths. I just need it to...
I am fitting a shower tray upstairs. I want to run 42mm shower waste pipe for a run of 1. 6m. The problem I have is that I would have to drill a hole 45mm in a 120mm joist. These joists I don't think are structural as they run from rsj to rsj. I would have to go through 3 joists. Is this...
Hi
I've never done any plumbing, so please forgive my ignorance. I've had to replace the waste on the basin in my downstairs loo. The new waste (the bit that goes into the sink) is shorter than the previous one (by about 10mm), so now it doesn't line up with the waste pipe.
I've attached a...
Hi - looking for something suitable to simply cover the hole for the sink overflow. I don't need it connected up to the waste so just want to use somehing to fill it and make it look nicer.
Could anyone recommend something? The hole is approx 30mm wide.
Many Thanks
I have an old problem to sort out, a sink with an solvent weld imperial size pipe which is a 90 deg bend sticking out of a wall it needs to have a length of straight pipe to reach the gully.
Of course a new 32mm pipe will not insert into the male bend, would a compression fitting work (40mm) if...
Never fitted any but seem to remember people saying it's often oddly sized?
Do normal compression fittings and traps join onto it ok (good quality mcalpine stylee)? Need to join on some already in situ/can't be removed
Thanks
Where do you buy your 40mm pvc waste pipes from? I'm struggling to find any.
Or do you just use the ABS solvent weld pipe and don't bother painting it? I haven't seen any painted!
im planning a separate shower cubicle and currently have my bath and basin joining into a 50mm waste pipe to the outside stack. Can I tee in my shower to the existing pipe. If not going to have to raise tray by 100mm due to joist layout.
Probably been asked before but will ask again. Am fitting out the utility room and having a quandry, if one can have such a thing, as to width of worktop. How do people get away with worktops 600mm deep if they have any sort of pipework going behind without appliances ie washer and dryer...
Hi
My sink waste pipe is behind the toilet waste pipe and i need to somehow get my sink waste over the top or under my toilet waste pipe. My sink is going to be fitted other side of bath approx 8 foot from main waste outlet. If i fit a 90 degree bend up and over and back down to the floor and...
The waste pipe for our cloakroom sink is a vertical metal pipe coming directly out of the ground (I need to measure it, but it looks like it's around 32mm). I'm not sure what metal is and it's been painted, so hard to tell.
What is the best way of connecting the sink trap onto this – can I use...
