What are my options replacing toilet with waste pipe in floor?

A few years ago I had to replace my old, 1960's downstairs loo as it had a crack in it. I was told that, because the waste pipe went down into a hole in the concrete floor and because of the distance of that hole from the back wall (20cm), I'd need a loo with a concealed cistern in a large...

Is this a waste access point?

I had to do work on waste pipe and uncovered this (as shown in the photograph) is it a access point that some one has either broken or left uncovered. There was just a cloth stuffed in it. It looks as though it is threaded. I would of investigated further but the people there were closing up and...

    Waste water pump

Hi can anyone recommend a good waste water pump. For clean water so won't need a macerator bit. It's for a waste run that now has 6 meters pipe with a fall of 20mm. So well out of limits for the required fall. Has been tested yet but I don't think will work without a pump.

    Basin waste option

Hi all, We are replacing our bathroom “hand wash basin on a table” with a basin on a new wall-hung cabinet with a drawer in it. The problem is, the waste pipe outside diameter is 36mm but the space behind the drawer is only 33mm Behind that gap is a 10mm wide strip of wood (about 30mm high)...

Slightly moving waste pipe connection into soil pipe

Parents have had a steel beam put into their hallway ceiling to adequately support landing and stairs. This means that the waste from a sink and shower will need to be reinstated slightly lower into the soil pipe, as the pipes will now run under rather than through the beams (the joists will be...

Help locating a rectangular waste trap for kitchen sink?

Hi all, I am hoping someone can advise on this.....bought a 1.5 bowl sink a while ago from B&Q but never got around to fitting it. Bath Waste Overflow Dilemma

Can anyone suggest a compatible overflow waste that works with this Bath? Appleby Roll Top (freestanding) see link below. I don’t want to fit an exposed chrome Roll top type overflow that is often suggested . They are pricey for a start. Just require a simple standard one with Flexi tube and...

    Outside waste drain constantly blocking.

    Tee basin into shower waste?

Hello, have a 4m run of 50mm pipe for the shower. The layout of joists, closeness of corner walls etc mean that it would be very helpful to be able to add the basin waste to a swept tee in the shower waste and this could be between 300-800mm from the soil stack . I've read elsewhere very mixed...

Soil stack/waste connection different manufacturers pipe differences

Hello. I'm connecting a long run of 50mm solvent weld waste pipe from a shower to the stack (compliant with regs hence 50mm). The soil stack branch is Hunter and I bought a Hunter solvent weld boss adapter to fit on it. However, the waste pipe (Floplast I think)is a loose fit in the adapter...

Help with leaking waste water to down pipe

Hi Everyone, Can anyone tell me what's the best way to fix this leaky connection union? Does the connection to the main down pipe need to be horizontal? Looks a bit dodgy to me. Should I replace with the pipe layout with something like I have sketched with the red or green lines in the...

Shower waste hole slope: defect or ok?

I have a 40 mm resin tray to install (sand/cement over suspended ground floor) and a decent McAlpine 90 mm waste. The hole in the tray is apparently on the built-in fall by accident or design, so that, with the ground-flat base, the edges of the hole vary from about 4 mm to about 8 mm on either...

Is it OK to combine osma, polypipe and floplast push fit waste pipe? I. E polypipe fittings and floplast pipe. Different merchants sell just one of the above. So I tend to end up with bits from different manufacturers. I presume its OK. I'm sure I have before and never had any issues. Just...
