Didn't hang around long enough. As soon as a realised the whole plumbing was a joke I said not interested unless the job's stripping out and replacing the lot. The plastic pipes to and from the cisterns in the loft were suspended on lengths of string and there was grey plastic pipe everywhere clipped to the skirting boards.

I am just trying to imagine the stringing needed for keeping the vent shaped and in place.
But if it is supported sufficiently then strings can be a good solution as well as it sort of noise insulates nearly perfectly. :vanish:

Actually from a certain amount of strings it could even double up as insulation. You probably looked at a testbed for new regulations?

The vent pipe and the cistern connections were copper as these were from a previous installation, which was the only decent pit of plumbing, but the rest of the pipework left much to be desired. The tank was unlidded to allow mice to come swimming in it and the overflow pipe was strung from the rafters and in time it went up and down like a snake. If anything overflowed, the joints would probably push apart and the water would come through the ceiling.

I'm just trying to get some straight advice here guys. What is so bad about using a flexi for a bidet connection or for a tap?

Thanks for all your replies, I took your advice and bought a couple of good quality Embrass Peerless 10mm - 15mm monobloc flexis.
