Hi to all member
I want to post this product I bought some weeks ago in a website in GB, it is called Acqua Tempus
apparently it is very simple but it is not: it is a shower timer with shut off; it is programmable and has a lithium battery that gets charged with the passage of water, son I do not need to replace any battery; the solenoid valve is inside Acqua Tempus, so no plumbing is needed at all. At a first sight, this product has been developed wisely.

I have 2 daughters, 14 and 16, and they took never ending showers (no less than 20 or even 30 minutes each, an absolute nightmare) my wife and I had to do something to cut off such expense on water and gas and this device is just what we needed.
The installation is very easy and seems to be well built: it is tough and easy to programm.
there is this video in Youtube: shower timer
I just wanted to share it here in this forum, I am quite sure some members will find it very useful at home as it has been for us
I hope it helps
regards

Hi, I would like to know whether the device reduces the waterflow during the showering time. I've got quite a high flow and like to keep that, I just want to stop some family members having excessive long showers as I can't be bothered to watch the clock whenever anyone takes a shower.
Hi kitty
It does reduce the water flow, bear in your mind it has a turbine to produce power and therefore charge the battery, so the turbine stops the water flow a little bit. Once installed, after a few days, you won't notice the difference
It is worth it
Hope this helps

Hi, I have finally bought one AT timer.
To be honest I must admit it is really well designed, easy to install and very effective reducing water and gas expenses. I have 2 children, I was thinking of killing them but finally decided to buy one Acqua Tempus to stop them from wasting gas and water.
The negative aspect is the price, only one distributor here in the uk, Leisure Controls, and the price is really high.
Anyway, nice stuff despite its price.

Very pleased to hear that you did not murder your children.
What is the payback period?
I don't know yet, we have installed it one week ago. Set as 5 minute showering for each of them and off they go.
Gas and water bills are definitely going to be lower.
In one month, I will come back to this forum showing figures.
One thing, really good : my wife and I are much more relaxed at home but don't know how to cuantify it in pounds.

So
"The price is really high"
You paid that high price because you are sure the item will reduce your gas and water bills (admirable)
This choice must have been been based on a calculation, even a rudimentary estimate.
Please share.
(Of course 1 month, as you suggest above is not a reasonable timescale for the estimate due to price fluctuations and seasonal use)
Thanks 👍

It is difficult to calculate the pay back period.
Since 2021 when we bought it, water and gas bills have dropped. 30 pounds a month perhaps in each bill.
And another "profit" is no more anger at home in the morning. The bathroom is usually unoccupied.
Despite is high price, we are satisfied with it.

Exactly. It's not all money. Getting a carpenter to do a really weird install for my kitchen sink to make it fit where it shouldn't cost me £220 and won't have added £220 to the value of the property. It may even have devalued it since I replaced the mixer tap with separate hot and cold (because Brexit means Brexit). On the plus side, I can wash up without worrying about splashing, water getting behind the sink, and having a plastic sink that is nigh impossible to clean.

However, the reduced stress and tiredness do mean I can work a week longer before having to retire so I'll get my money back with interest!

BY the way, the only negative aspect about it is the price: about 350 sterlings
not cheap at all
hopefully, we will get it paid back in not more than 4 or 6 months

Hi Spitfire72
I am writting to you from Arelia, the manufacturer of this device you are exposing.
We have come across to this forum because our distributor in the UK has told us some customers were talking about it positively.
I would like to congratulate you for making this decision of installing a shower timer with shut off. I presume and hope , your water and gas bills have dropped.
As you say, our product is expensive, quite expensive but it is not so much about the price , but about the money it saves day after day reducing your childrn's showers. Besides, all the components it has are top quality so that's one of the reasons of its price. And last but not least, this device does not need plumbing or electricity jobs son that is very attractive, it is DIY.

I just wanted to highlight these features so that you can reconsider your opinion about its price.
Just this so far.
kind regards

@Arelia
I admire your honesty when you say:

"our product is expensive, quite expensive"

That's a brave statement. Well done.

I appreciate your words.
As I said before, we use high quality components, we could make it much cheaper with low quality stuff but that is not our market nor the quality we give to our customers.
Thanks anyway 😉

Expensive but not dear, I think is the point s/he is making. Anyway, when did 'cheap' become a positive word?
One more thing, Acqua Tempus has a solenoid latch valve inside: we could have chosen a cheap chinese valve but we decided to mount Muller valves which are supposed to be the best in the market but also very expensive, same with the water turbine: we chose a model with ceramic shaft against water hardness but has a high price,....., And more components that are high quality.

All this together explains its price.
