i live in a rural area and have no main gas, i have just had a quote for centrall heating system using a amptec flow boiler 12kw using economy 10 electric. are they expensive to run, or would i be better of with oil or lpg system, which would give the best heat out.
 
look at solar and heat pumps for an alternative heat source and you may be suprised at what you can get. Depends on you house though if it is suitable so you need a good engineer to advise you, go by reccommendations and advice direct from manufacturers
 
hi agree with old plumber altjough intial outlay is quite high if you do go electric the fusion boiler is a better option in my experience.
