I believe you can actually still buy those stopcocks - I had exactly the same issue last December and I researched it and found exactly the same tap. I'll dig around and see if I can find it again.

can't seem to find it now. If you can't get lower than the bulb I'd just explain to the custard that she either gets the lead pipe replaced or she'll have to settle for an additional stopcock just above it.

Did you fix it Ash?

Parts should be with the office in the morning, so will be doing tomorrow or wednesday.

Was going for a 3/4 to 15 but also have some leadlocks on the way so should have bases covered.

Agree with this, tell her that your advice is better than hers when it comes to plumbing and leave the old one in!

Sorry for the delay been so busy with over time and call out.

Nothing exciting to report i'm sorry to say lol.

Managed to remove the back part of the cupboard so i could see more and reach more but the lead pipe was so tight against the wall i realised there was not much i could do with it.

Luckily there was a small section of 15mm copper above i just cut in a new one. It was very very tight. I also removed the old stopcock and fitting and cleaned up all the joints and retaped/new jointing compound etc.

Jobs still safe. Phew!

Oh yeah this was first job Friday morning. My second job was guess what...replace a stopcock on lead mains!! :/

Didn't mess about, cut a new one in and was out of there!
