Never see that in Yorkshire thank god lol, we have proper water.
I removed a large cylinder in North Yorkshire 20 years ago ( boroughbridge) the cylinder was 6ft tall & 3ft wide.
had to cut the cylinder open to move it and got 3 wheelbarrows full of lime scale!
 
what did you use to clean it out?

A piece of 32 plastic pipe
wet & dry Hoover with 22mm poly pushed in nozzle , plus using sower hose with extension pipe to flush out , scale ,

it was like doing liposuckion a fat bird ( or bloke )
