I feel blessed to have not had any call outs to blocked toilets or soil pipes, just blocked sinks drains and they can be bad enough,
When I served my time we unblocked a drain to a block of flats, the 5hit came out the man hole about 8 foot high, I was glad I brought all the drain rods that day was a good 10 meters away when it went

Machine mart do a massive plunger for a tenner.
It will clear the most subborn king richards.

I'm dubious of them. If there's a solid block and you're applying pressure... If it don't shift and you release, where's the excess pressure gonna discharge?

That is large and the aperture fits over a pan hole.
Large displacement of water when plunging works well for under a tenner.
Long handle means you don't get extras under your nails !
