bloomin check valve on toilet overflow!

never seen one before?? job this morning was to change syphon and stop overflow leak for customer. when i arrived noticed a check valve on the overflow outlet of the toilet, traditional syphon and overflow setup?? bloomin nightmare, it was also holding water in a small clear inspection chamber..i sorted it, but has anyone ever seen one before as my 20 year time served boss hadnt

Common on high rise with internal loos round this way.

Thats the only place I have seen them, where there is a communal overflow system.

this one was teed into a soil pipe within a roof void with the overflow pipe going up vertically lol, its not now its been put right

Seen em before were tee"d into a internal stack unable to get outside, but not very common i think
