How do you know, it has not been independently tested or certified.

This whole thread should be deleted.

Post of the century...

No offence to anyone..... just beautiful!!!

I'm going to use that comment with my wife....probably to my detriment!!!

I'll give it 3 days ...I'll either be in hospital, in hiding, or dead!!!
If you don't hear from me... all the best!

RE: the App. It may be useful to you guys due to the amount of boiler brands /models available to you. We only have 5 or 6 brands available to us over here.

I just checked it out. The video demo is on an iphone but someone said it's not available on iphone?? The boiler manuals would be handy so that's a shame. I have to get my laptop out to find mine.

So if the HSE approve it then its ok? Even if its the same app? The EXACT same info with a sticker on from the HSE?

Ok mate.

It does work on iPhone as I'm running it on there, it's a webapp anyway so compatible with all smart phones, tablets, pc's, does say on the website that boiler manuals are coming at the end of the month.

Where did you download the app from onto your phone

www.boilerfaultfinder.com follow the instructions there's a disclaimer first. It gives you an option at the beginning to install the app icon to your home screen make sure you do this.

I don't fully understand. If it's not on the app store, then it's not an iphone app. If you need the internet to make it run, then there's not a lot of point from my point of view because.

a/ I often work in the sticks and therefore have no 3G signal.
b/ If I had a 3G signal there is a good chance I can download the manual for free online.

honestly cant see the download part on the website

I have used various web apps and they work fine.
i phone apps need 3G so if in areas far away (sticks), which 3G is usually then a problem. At least on the internet you can use wifi.
to download simply click on buy here (if on PC) as I did, or click on any pound sign which I think does the same thing if on phone (allows all the content to be downloaded).

personally, for £5.99 this level of content in one place is value for money. I have been a field service engineer for 15 years so a lot I already knew, but I have to say, the team who compiled this has done a good job and we can all learn something from each other.

I'm all for having every tool in the arsenal. Lets face it British Gas (spits) engineers take a bloody great laptop with them at all times. Watched one myself self in the summer. I was doing the bathroom and the ladies unvented cylinder had a leaking combination valve. She was covered by BG. Bloke turned up. Spent half an hour sat on his tool box, only to declare he would need to change the valve!! Anyway it was an insight.

So I would buy this as an app just for the manuals, but as something that runs via a website. No ta. iphone apps might use 3G for certain things, but the ones I use (pipe sizing app for gas) don't need any signal at all.

Not very good for poor reception areas and the old phone bill then?

I had had exactly the same questions before I purchased and the app guys replied with some valid points.......hence why it's a web app:

the manuals (live end of month) is too large a file size for an I phone app.

You can always tap into the customers wifi........if they feel uncomfortable, you can always say you need it for part numbers and will get there boiler fixed more quickly!

that's what I do and never any probs.

If I worked in London, I'd buy it. But my jobs are in places like Speldhurst, Penshurst, Chiddingstone, Cowden, and Hever. So getting a phone signal is bad enough, let alone internet. As for connecting to my customers wi-fi. Not a chance I'd ask for that.

As it's a web app.......print it off!

still worth £5.99 my wife has done exactly that for me.

How do you print a web app?

Go to the website on your pc, either purchase it or log in if you've already bought the subscription

Then should be fairly easy to print and even put in a binder :)

I can see it in my android playstore but it is priced at £24.99. Anyone bought it recently?

Boilerfaultfinder is a web app, not in play store or AppStore? Must be something else your looking at? This is the one I have is boilerfaultfinder.com it's £9.99
