Long story short, had an old Danfoss 102 control on my 25+ year system, it died and replaced it with a Danfoss 102e (direct replacement but digital version) All working fine over the winter, but when we recently changed it to Hot water only the pump never seems to fire up. If I set it to Heating and Hot Water then all is fine, pump runs.
I had to clean out the 3 port valve as was getting back flushing when I turned the heating thermostat to off and was still getting heat. All works ok now as long as I keep it on Keating and hot water but with thermostat turned off. Any ideas why the pump won't fire up for just hot water? and if not, can you seen any reason why not to run it like this, as planning a have it replaced in the next couple of years when I get the garage extended, but would be nice to keep it going until then

Thanks if you can help

Nick

Sounds like you need to replace the 3 port valve stuck in mid position
