On the plus side hopefully the price of new copper will drop sharply soon.

Already is. We took 16p per m off the price of tube last week, and there may be more to come if the price keeps falling. There is usually a 2 - 6 week lag between Metal Exchange price movements and the price at the trade counter. This reflects current stock levels both at merchant and at mill.

Is it the usual Ray?
price drops. Supplier stays at the higher rate, as they have stock.
price rises. Supplier ups price, as they say they are buying at the higher rate.
