Hi all,

It's a Warmflow 70/90 System boiler - I had to drain the system down to replace some rad valves. Upon refilling , it fires up and runs for maybe 15 mins then stops for a couple of mins then starts again. It's like the thermostat is operating too early - is this perhaps because of air in system somewhere? if so any hints in chasing it out - it is a sealed system and haven't really had any problems with sealed systems before....

muchos gracias

Likely to be air. Keep venting from all the usual places and get the pump running (boiler not firing) to circulate the system water and hopefully push the air to a venting point.

Could be pump solenoid, oil starvation*, pump or faulty photocell. (That order if memory serves correctly.) What's the make and model of the burner?

* I've had one or two before where the fire valve has a blockage which allows oil through but not enough to supply the burner continuously. Burner stops, oil seeps through gradually then 1/2 hour later or so there's enough to keep the burner going for a little while.

Bleed the pump if its cavitating it wont circulate the water properly and get the heat away from the boiler.
