Behave! Not heard the term bare back for years
Sorry mate. My mind wondered off then.Behave!
Ah the dreaded Turboflush! Now this is going to sound really daft but if the end of the wires had what looks like metal lugs on the end then cut them off, bare back the insulation, twist the bare wires (as you would when wiring a plug) and then rewire into the switched spur you have there.
That’s some awesome knowledge mateNo you weren't told to strip the wires back and even though it makes no sense it can work.
Another possibility is that water is being syphoned out when the motor stops so water level is low which doesn't help.
When you go back flush the toilet and wait until the cistern refills then if it hasn't burst into life give the left hand side of the tank a gentle kick. If it starts then call the warranty guys in.
Thank you, taken me long enough to learn it mind you. That’s some awesome knowledge mate
I’m planning on visiting tomorrow so will update
Yes so the discharge elbow and grey coupling have a piece of 30mm pipe inside to ensure jubilee clips can be nice and tight. Thanks for the photos they made life easier.
One thing though, the discharge elbow is rubber as is the Grey connecter you used to join it to the solvent weld pipe, did you use a short length of pipe inbetween, rubber on rubber isn`t a good joint.
Okay so I’m back and cut the wires and it’s all switched on. It doesn’t kick in when the basin is on ?! So can flud if the tap is left running but it’s kicking In when I flush it nowThanks for the photos they made life easier.

Flush
Wait 2 mins
If nothing
Gentle kick on left or gentle thump on top
Does it now work
Appreciate all the help anyway. I’m going to return it and go back with a replacement Monday. Will let you knowIt should
Sounds like pressure switch misbehaving
Could be damaged in transit
Isolate all water
Call the warranty phone number
Good news. Screwfix have sent a new pump and do not want the old one.Sticker on the side
Do not return
Call this number
But entirely up to you what you do
The optimistic wasn’t about you mate. It was about EBay. Sold a 1 month old Bristan tap on eBay with a warranty card. They then decided they had a fault with it after 3 weeks. I explained they needed to go to Bristan. EBay automatically gave them a refund from my account without even talking to me. I hate EBay. The seller has no protection what so ever.Nothing optimistic about it harvest, fitted loads of customer supplied pumps from fleabay which don`t work, even had a 10yr old pump where customer had been told it was only 2yr old and had been hardly used! Robbing bar stewards out there.
