i run a powerflush company in birmingham....i give every engineer £50 for every powerflush they give me....and the main thing is...never never bite the hand that feeds you,if something else is needed to be done in the house i powerflush i always tell the owner to ask the engineer first and if he can't do it then ring me.
and pflush.com charge way way over the odds!!!

Finally some positive news. I strongly believe it is a good idea to start a powerflush company.
just out of curiosity moogwai, how many powerflushes do you get annually and does it go quiet in the summer?

I personally would do it myself, I'm going to buy that magnacleanse machine as I could afford that at the moment, and the more work I do myself the more money I make simple as... I'm also going to go on a tiling course so I can tile also instead of getting a tiler in, end of the day more money for me and In this current climate the more money the better :)

you never know how many you're gonna get....sometimes get 5 a week...sometimes none. Although i set up my company mainly to do powerflushing i am gas safe registered and will do anything to bring in the dough...as long as i can provide for the wife and lad thats the main thing.
powerflushing does go quieter in the summer...thats where the bathroom/kitchen refurbs come in handy...also do work for builders doing extensions/loft conversions etc...which always seem to come in during the summer months..
i say go for it mate...get yourself a decent website and the googlers will find you!!!

trouble with that attachment is the pump running the system is no where near as powerflul as a powerflush machine and may struggle when it comes up against a well sludged up system and not being able to reverse the flow of the water is also a disadvantage. This is just another gimmick from adey to make money...imho.

I dont know if that was aimed at me Tamz,

Not aimed at you Blackcat just general comments to the op;)

How often do you recommend, is it only when the system is really dirty or is it at every installation?

Also there are other methods, like putting cleaner in the system?

Do you always check to see if all the radiators are working before you fit a new boiler or do you just give them a wash no matter what?
How much of a clean does the manufacturer reccomend. Is it just clean water in the system or is there stricter guidelines?

From different posts

I have heard about different manus blaming everything on dirt in the system (usually the cheaper brands) but i have never had any problem with WB.
First time will be the last one i fit.

I've heard that its good, its within my budget at the moment anyhow... what about the magnacleanse which u add to your powerflush machine for extra effect and then you can show the customer which is being removed ?

Theres a new thing coming out on the market though the magnacleanse that might wipe out powerflushing companies.

Looks like a gimmick to sell more Magnaleaks. On the Magnacleanse site, the instructions say to make sure that each rad is half full before flushing. That's great if your client has glass radiators!
It doesn't look revolutionary, just a cheap, non-reversible flow power flusher. Expect wet carpets.
