I have a wood pellet boiler 25m from house (with district heating pipe). The pump is at the boiler on the return pipe. To prevent pumping cold water to the boiler when the pump starts there is a thermostatic valve (Esbe TV RL-72) installed as shown in the instruction leaflet na.heating.danfoss.com/PCMPDF/ESBE_TV_instructions.pdf with a 1/2" gate valve in the bypass circuit (port 3 on the diagram).
The problem: on starting the pump it's taking up to 30 minutes for the circuit to get to the stage where hot water is flowing properly to the house.
The question: what's the correct procedure to adjust the bypass for best response time?
