hello all, just checking my prices.can you give me an idea of what your charging, and what area your in please.
change float valve in cwsc
change set bath taps
change set of basin taps
change set kitchen taps
straight swap bathroom
hourly rate
call out (normal hours)
call out (after hours/weekend)

thanks for your help,i`m sure a lot of people will find this usefull.

tbh if people publish what they charge and in what area the n someone will then start undercutting them
charge a fair price and you wont go wrong as a rule of thumb 150.00 for day or 40.00 first hour then 30.00 for each addtnl if having to do small jobs

malc charge what you want, what that job is worth to you and what you think the customer will think the job is worth to them

As above, but don't rip people off either as far to many sneaky and greedy people getting into plumbing who think its funny to rip old dears off charging £75 for a stopcock when all that needed doing was nipping up the glandnut (but probably not experienced enough to even realise that!). Be good!

1/60-70
2/60-80 depending on access and corrosion
3/50.00
4/50.00
5/min 400.00 if no making good but hard to say without looking and lots of variables
6/40.00 first hour then 30,00 or 150,00 for day
7/no charge
8/depends on time and situ
and sad to say but old duffers still get the best rate unless they are loaded

we are not selling 1/2lb of spuds here
each job is differant
I can change a pair of taps in an hour and I can change the next pair of taps in half a day
Or as happened to me there other day,you can't get taps off basin, due to embedding in boss white and paint, the customer shouts at you, that she wants new taps, pointing out you promised her two years ago and that you are a complete waste of space and she wishes she never gave birth to you.
So you have to go out ,buy a new small hand wash basin and taps fit it remove the old tiles around and fit new as required, then all you get is a winging old women saying that coz you took so long she do'nt feel like going to bingo now and in any case, will have to clear up all the mess I have made, after I have just spent 1/2hr making sure tidy as I know what me mums like :D

boss white and paint? they used to put them in with cement now then you have a problem

Prices depend on who your competing against. You can have a grab all attitude if you want, but all you usually find then is the phone doesn't ring very often.

Today competition in the game is tight, and to get continuity of work you have got to put in for work off the likes of biggish landlords. And they are not stupid people they usually know the market prices like you do and often have professional staff who negotiate prices. So while you may pull the wool over an old ladies eyes if your that sort of person, you will find the big outfits who can give you continuous work are not so easily fooled.

There is a guide to Building work prices including Plumbers, that is published I think its called Hutchinson's Building costs, in point there are a few of them, Spons is another.

Try and get a copy, its an eye opener, but they are dear.
