Thanks - a useful "insight" - I'll have a chat with my GSR mates as and when I see them....

Our house is over 150 sq m, is S plan but has a hot water tank.......... thankfully the boiler is under 5 years old.

That said there are a few GSR's that don't realise a number of new boilers need Pl & Sl ......................

Sorry to tar a few sparks that don't think ahead (only installing one 3 core instead of two) helps a lot when you change an old that didn't require pl or pump live

If in doubt I run in 5 core cable from the wiring centre to the boiler - I don't keep 4 core!

Sincerely hope you are reading the Building Regs before advising them on plumbing and heating.

I don’t advise about heating unless it’s 100% electric ....
