Have installed new Honeywell T3r wireless thermostat to replace old 6360 unit. Old one was working fine but new receiver does not power up. Connected switched live to boiler to position A And live from programmer to position B. Existing neutral and earth sealed off. Put old unit back on works fine. Any ideas.

Sounds like you’ve only done half the wiring. The T3R needs a permanent live and permanent neutral and the switching wires. Depending on what boiler is installed, you could perhaps take the live from old thermostat (usually terminal 1), and the neutral (terminal 2) as your live and neutral, put a link wire from Live across to A and use terminal 3 into B.

Thanks for that. The boiler is an old potter ton prima f on a Y plan set up so hope your reply still stands. Goes to show you can’t trust all videos on the net, the one I saw just used the two wires.
I will do what you suggest today and let you know how I get on.

Attached photo of what I think is wiring centre in 1st floor airing cupboard. Can you make sense of all those wires?

They probably use the t3 battery eg two wire connector

It’s not the easiest, but I’d say white (as it’s usual) with the yellow is the switched live from your thermostat, have a look at what colours are at your thermostat if Live out (terminal 3) is yellow, then I’d say they match. Then you might be able to do the same with the live feed (terminal 1). Neutral seems like all the blues together.

Yes, terminal 3 on 6360 is yellow. Terminal 1 is red . So, numbering the control box connections from the left ( ie. white and yellow is no 6 ) which no’s would you suggest go to where on T3r receiver

Number 6 would go to B, you need to figure out if which of the reds is to the thermostat, which would go to A, then take a wire from N to blues, and then figure out which is a permanent live.
