£300 thats the cost of 4 new car tyres and a couple of window paynes is it not??

or middle of the night, with blocks and quick set cement/concrete. Build walls infront of her doors outside of them, or small foam balls in the gas line, send her husband flowers with a sexy note.

didnt god once write..... do onto others as they would do to you?........ or in other terms do bad things to bad people!!

Report it to the police.
Obtain services by deception...

For all you know she could do this to every tradesmen that walks through the door.

The most sensible thing to do - before you end up with a conviction - is to negotiate a price for the works done.
Its after the fact but ask her what she thinks is fair and work from there.
If she is willing to talk, agree to get as much as you can, without being pushy or nasty.
One you have agreed go and collect the money and just be nice about it.

Its too easy to get up a head of steam and lose the lot and then have her come back at you with a recording of the conversation.
I am well versed in this situation, let me tell you, for a hell of a lot more money than you stand to lose on this job.

What about small claims court ? Things like this can't just be ignored, if she gets away with it, she'll go on to do it to others.

I agree with combo, if she is allowed to knock you down then she will do it to the next guy. Although should of given her your rough price first.

Although should of given her your rough price first.

True, but the fact that she didn't get a price is more her fault than CRX100.

If you walk onto a merchant tradecounter and order a bundle of tube on account, they won't tell you the price unless you ask. And when you get the invoice, you can either pay it or go to court.

Why should this be any different?

she has haggled me down to £230 . from the £300 , i told her to just pay the £230 then and not to contact me again . it has caused me so much stress i cant be bothered with chasing theother 70 quid, for once in my life i hope my work will leak all over the place!!! (not the gas hopfully tho :p) haha

Warranty, what warranty??

At least not a total loss.

If anyone rings and says you've been recommended, make sure it wasn't this customer that recommended you..

I am glad to see you got paid. £70 lost is not that bad for your first G as job.
As for the boiler you are thinking of fitting on a platform, I'll suggest you think again.
To just want to fit a boiler so as to make up for income, is a NO NO. As a new gas operative, the best way forward is for you to know when to walk away.

If you go and collect the money try not to accidently walk dog poo into their capret
