Hi guys this is one for any industrial gas engineers, fit a new inch gas valve to a MHS Regency 4, entails collecting new valve from suppliers best part of an hour visit site strip out front plate, burner bars on gas train, strip valve replace with new, leak test, set pressure, flue gas analyser test, complete all paperwork, what time would you give to complete this work.

1/2- 3/4 day.

I wouldn't just replace the gas valve on this model. It's got a gas valve either end. Variable damper on flue and other features. And it's dual stage valve

Depending on demand, and this time of year demand is reducing. Also I'd bet this is part of a bank of boilers. So setting high burn might be a issue

4 hours was quoted SimonJohns was correct dual burner and part of a bank, okay with the load big building high demand, the building manager thought 4 hours was high, just coming back down after a rant, if you have got to justify safe times walk away.

well just ask him if he wants it doing properly or just doing

Building managers no technical background but try to keep calling the shots.

Where in the world are you?

Well theres 2 of these heaps that I know that are installed

Only got one on my patch and I loathe the service

You had much to do with the appliance before this

Not really had a lot of work on these sets of boilers, although its maimly commercial appliaces involved with, the boilers dont bug me, Its the so called managers that annoy, still roll on the lottery win.

Hi Stewn, when your replacing the gas valve make sure you've got your stillsons with you, the elbow is murder to get off, i've replaced a couple of gas valves on these boilers and that's the biggest problem i had. 4 hours should be ok as long as you can disapate the heat, especially if the building is controlled by a BMS.
