Can i take it that this is another up market landlords three bed semi with nine occupants hot bedding in pure luxury Jay?

townfanjon, for my own reference as i'm still learning..can you please let me know the difference between a boiler being boxed in and in a compartment?

Compartment is usually for an open flued appliance .

Room sealed boiler is sealed so doesn't matter weather it's in a box or a box of boxes with no ventilation. Unless you work for BG then every boiler is in a compartment.

Hi Friends

Been busy this week but have a question if ok.

A flat has has a new boiler fitted in the bedroom.

The boiler is about a foot off the ground & next to the bed.

Are there any regs that state this cannot be?

Or if not, should it be boxed in?

Basically, I've been asked to box it in. The agent gas said there's nothing to say the boiler cannot/shouldn't be situated where it is.

It look ridiculous as it's where you'd put your bedside table.

Any thoughts?

Legal from you gas men please.

Cheers

Rct

can I just get one thing clear, theres no way that flat can just have had that boiler fitter new recently, its not been compliant or even made for ages.

It still had the film on it today. I've no idea if its new or not. The pipe work underneath isn't new.

good spot its not new or been made for ages, but you can probably buy a new old stock somewhere

so are you saying the only place he could put the "new" boiler was in the bedroom just off the floor, hence why it didnt have to be a condensor, some folks, anything to save a few bob :)

You know this, there's a point system for the requirement of condensers. So many points for re siting etc. some jobs still qualify, but no se boilers left. Sad face.
