What are those screw in caps for bayonets?
Never used one, or seen them for sale, but seen odd bayonet capped with them?

Highway Code - control of the vehicle 117 - 126 tells me the speed limits for the road ie 30MPH outside the local school, sometimes I just use my initiative.

Do you need an electrician to unplug a 13A plug from a wall socket, then plug it back in again, or fit a safety blanking cap to stop children poking things into the socket?

If not, I don't see the difference with unplugging a gas bayonet hose then reconnecting it, or putting on one of those blanking plates from the above link.

Before long, you'll need a GSR to turn on and off your cooker taps, in case you don't turn them fully off, or test for leaks each time.

Don't take this post the wrong way, but this particular topic isn't even agreed upon by GSR's themselves.

but what if the customer wants to remove the plug, move the socket to the right and then plug it back in, your example doesnt relate to what the OP wanted to do which was fit the hob in a new worktop which is an installation

Removal of bayonette, not Gaswork tools not required, can be done by anyone.

Removal of old gas hob from worktop, not gaswork, altho' tools required the hob is decommissioned.

Re-Fitting gas old hob into new worktop is gaswork, tools are required, regs need interpreting to apply current standards re position and connection method.

Capping / plugging of bayonette fitting if not required for future use would be good practice.
Unless it's not accessable then it has to be plugged.
