If I can lay that one to bed!! I worked with Bgas from 1986 till 2003 and never seen it work.

just had to check which section this was in before i said this but "some" meters don't register if you lay them on their back........allegedly.
which ones?. I would like to find out all about the tampering of meters in case i come across one?. ...honest..

i had a customer who had a sparks in and managed to blow a hole in the anaconda and caught fire , I arrived on job and replaced anaconda , Transco arrived the next day to major leak in the drive and evacuated all surrounding houses, Some prat from Transco said that I should not be fitting a anaconda as they are gas board fitting which is total rubbish , Then he says he would have done the job for £30 ,Prat

AFAIK an ignition of escaping gas is RIDDOR reportable.

Yes maybe the customer reported it as the electricity board were there and the next day a few houses were evacuated and they had a big dig up

How would you guys classify a meter installation where the installer has connected 2 anacondas together at the inlet and the meter is hard piped at the other side and fixed on a bracket?

NCS if you must and phone it in to the supplier who will classify it as wgaf.

All the SGN guys have spoken to have said this a massive no no but I would like to know a real reason why! What about a regulator fitted the wrong way round? I came across this and it had been running until it finally locked out

They should not be joined but hardly a massive no no. I've seen it a few times where the valve has been father away than it will reach. Maybe if they gave them a couple of feet of pipe in their van they could hard pipe it.
A regulator the wrong way round is stupidity but par for the course when they will take on any halfwit who has a gas ticket to fit meters.

Throw this one in, the use of tracpipe for gas install direct off meter, meter secured to wall.is this classed as the use of two flexes ?

I've yet to come across tracpipe up to the meter but it will happen. You will still have a bit copper coming off it even if it is only 2" so strictly speaking not 2 flexi's

I've seen exactly that, inch of copper on the outlet then tracpipe. Nothing wrong with it but does make the two flexi rule look stupid!
