I hope i have the right room here to ask the question, here goes. How is the Gas meter in the house surposed to be held up?This might sound silly i now but i think this a serious question. We own a House its a 2 bed house but have had to rent a 3 bed house with having 3 kids.Ive open the cupboard door to find the Gas meter just held up by 2 bricks one on top of the other in the middle of the cupboard not tied to anything. In my opinion this doesnt look right but im not qualified to say so

It's not right. It should be safely secured using the correct mounting plate.

That being said, my local Screwfix's meter is sitting on a brick...

Two bricks? Must be a posh house....ours just dangles :)

Get a bracket fitted , it could be putting strain on the pipes

Thanks bod for the advice.one of the reason why i come to this forum, great info and friendly people with knowledge

There are thousands around like it, on the floor, on a brick, mine was hovering until I jammed a bit of plasterboard under it. As they get replaced they tend to put a bracket on to hold them.

Bricks worked for this one i came across

Kidding ya pal , I've seen a lot worse , needs sorting though including the earth

It is on a bracket already. The earth is in the wrong place and shouldn't have a join in it.

The Bracket is there mate but its not fixed to anything,it sits in the middle of the cupboard on the two bricks

It is on the wrong pipe. Should be on the outlet.

Get a couple of frame fix screws and use the bricks behind the bracket and screw it back
