I think a lot of people have taken this the wrong way. The forum should be proud of this. Our bigger forums that we run between us all (and when I say that, the sparky's on their forum, and the tilers on their forum, are all included, because if one of our forums ends up shyte then the others get tainted) were the first of their kind online in the UK. They are still, nearly 7 years later, are still the biggest and most visited forums of their type in the UK.

It was a given that to keep growing we would eventually A) have said types companies on board and B) continue to set us apart from the dozens of competitors that have setup over the years.

I will ensure when I make every one of the deals that I make, and I make them long-term only, that they have your best interests at heart as a forum cannot and will not run without you.

I can guarantee that if I screw up you tell me, and I can always revert back. But this isn't one of those moments. It's a very good thing, and those that are concerned shouldn't be.

If somebody needs to discuss GS, they do it here anyway. So GS being here will only encourage that.

And if somebody is touching Gas and shouldn't be, then perhaps only those should have any concern at all, but it still shouldn't involve the forum we don't get involved. We tell those complaining to us via email about a "gas man" not having "a certificate" is normally how they sort of word it, to contact Gas Safe and not us.

We don't have the legal clout to get involved in accusations and certainly don't want to see evidence!!!! lol That word alone worries me it makes me feel like I'm involved if they send me pictures of their plumber getting himself set on fire. I'll leave that to them.

But I can guarantee their motifs are clear. They just will want to promote everything they do already via various channels, on the UK's biggest dedicated plumbing advice website. Why wouldn't they?

I didn't know that! Is that true? Is that a mag that gets sent out to all GSR plumbers then?

Yes.

Well done Dan in getting Gas Safe involved. It will definitely lend credence to the forums and hopefully emphasise the importance of gas safety.

Well done dan, I agree it does add credibility to the forum.
It's also a great way to promote gas safety to home owners/tenants and landlords all coming on here and asking how to repair their boiler.

Well done for getting them onboard. It will be interesting to find out what they make of the number of posters/homeowners who are still so out of touch with regards to gas and public safety. It can only be a good thing IMO.

i think this will be a good thing. It should help get the forum new members and alot more traffic which is what forums are all about.

nice one Dan.

now have you suggested to them that forum members get a discount off the anual register fee?? :)

worth a try ;)

I will agree that it's a good thing. Raising the profile of the forum could lead to a serious earner for dan. Only joking it mega that they are interested and it can only benefit all

Do you think they will put their two penn'orth in to help clear up some of the "grey area" questions that come up?!

Fat chance be the usual bs numbers and paragraphs. And when I say bs numbers it has two meanings. Not a fan of our governing body. The only benefits I'm interested in are monatary, and I can't see that in any way.
