Well it was Cottage Pie for lunch today. Choccy biccies with the morning tea and fruit shortcake with the afternoon tee.

Finished a job last week, lovely elderly lady stuffed me full of delicious home baking every day. Going back on Sunday to install ensuite and she's making me and the kids a chocolate cake. Love these jobs, but I'm a stone heavier now! LOL

I must have a tight-arse customer magnet built in.. Almost everyone of my customers are slow to put the kettle on.
I use the hearing test:-

"Listen...
Did you hear that?...
-What?
Sounded just like your kettle clicking off.. coffee, black 2 sugars thanks...":innocent:

whats the matter with you lot????? just tell put them to get the kettle on it aint hard

geez!. had to read right up to here before someone made sense!!!

i 'tell them' to put the kettle on or i am off to the cafe. i will even help myself and ask where the cups are if they dont offer and i want to 'risk' my health...lol.

Pork chop and jacket potato today. Two more days next week to finish, I'm going to have to get some bigger trousers.

Here,s a tip. When you turn the water off ask them iff the kettles full because the waters going to be of for a while. if that doesnt work, give up.

and here's me thinking filling the kettle was so they could have some water while the water was off

Put your footprints on the lid of the teabag jar while working and tell them that once they have put the kettle on, you'll remove them.

If you don't ask, you don't get. Now for some more of that delicious home baking on Sunday. Chocolate cake it is too!

I tell the custards that a water quality check's required and cold they help me. "How do I do that?" They ask.
"It won't hurt, I promise. Bang some water in that kettle and put it on to boil."
"Then?"
"Dump the hot water in a mug with a teabag, I'll look after the rest.....

Never fails.

My mate asked me today if he could put a tea bag in my mouth....then if he could put boiling water in it......

must think im some sort of mug......

If they are very slow on the tea making front I sometimes ask if they would like me to check out the electrics as well as the plumbing. When they look at me funny I say "well, your kettle doesn't seem to be working" :) I only say it to familiar cusomers though.

While doing a recent bathroom job for a neighbour she told me to help myself to tea and coffee while she was at work. 1st day at about 11:00am I went to the kitchen to make a tea. I knew she didn't have a normal electric kettle but instead a cast iron one on an electric hob.

I was not used to this set up, I saw that the kettle was sitting on some kind on ceramic tile mat on top of the back heat ring on the hob so I thought it must be some kind of heat transferance mat for sitting the kettle while it was heated? so I turned the ring on full blast and then went outside for a smoke.

My phone rang when I was outside so I got distracted and forgot about the kettle and went back upstairs. 20 mins later the smoke alarm went off and I could smell burning downstairs, after a four letter word outburst I raced down to find the kitchen full of smoke that was pouring out from under the kettle.

The heat mat tile was so hot it was cracked into peices and the burning was the cork tile underneath it!, little did I know the mat was just to rest the kettle on after it was heated on the front heat ring.

I spent the next hour wafting smoke out of the kitchen and trying to clean the scorch mark off the hob.

All I wanted was a quick brew and I nearly burned the house down!
