Ahh right must note in my diary that not fitting a pap worcester boiler correctly causes a dry joint in the pcb or turning the boiler off when going on holiday pings the fan , yep noted installer fault
Good lad your learning..........

dont know if anyone thinks like me but once bitten twice shy comes into play. some manu send their boilers out for joe public to test and the customers and the installers have all the headaches. a few years ago i was fitting loads of baxi bananas because of their high dom flow rate at the time . quite a few we couldnt get them fired up to start with, nightmare. so for me baxi went out the window. i have not fitted many ideals just heard all the stories so i keep away from them. wb test all their boilers at the factory back up is second to none most of my customers ask for them. i dont agree with the way they are promoting themselves at thie moment but untill something better comes along.

Lets face it, the only reason anyone fits WB over any other brand, has nothing to do with the quality of the boilers. They're easy to sell, and that's it.

As a breakdown engineer, they're all rubbish. So doesn't really matter too much what you fit. It'll break down. But from what I have seen, the Baxi products from their HE range, not the GA range, are the better ones to go for. They break down yes, but the fault is usually something very simple, not like WB needing fans & gas valves. Haven't worked on any Logics, but I think everyone has been put off Ideal after the disaster that was the Isar.
Someone also mentioned the GW Ultracom 2 on here being good. They've got more plastic than the Worcester & IMO aren't much good. They don't burn as clean as the Baxi products so either.

well they are easy to sell, also i have been to the factory many times watching them built and iknow this might sound pap but a least there employing people , some manuf just ship in brown cardboard boxes and sell em on . ferolli to name one. ideal sell shed loads of boilers mainly for large companys cos their cheap and (possibly) financial support not so much reliability.

baxi was in there once, same boiler as gold :)

Yeah Steve but that was when I had no bald spot, so a long time ago, and I thought it was for the 401 & 552 not their combi's, as the early one were made by dare I say it Chaffoteux.

Probably not old enough vern ;) tried to diagnose a baxi bahama once, that was so fun I almost threw up.

Wasn't a fan of these myself, could never get them looking level on the wall.

it was 2006ish with the Platinum iirc, you on peroni tonight ?

I agree with the Worcester bashing, not keen. Look and feel so cheap, the badge is what sells them, and when that falls off it leaves two holes in the case right through to the combustion chamber! Thank Worcester for that.

Yeah I know Steve lol, they paid for that placing though pal, something which WB would never have to do

Regards the Peroni, how did you know? Off out now for a sweet sherry with the vicar to discuss how the 24i junior has a superior flow and hot water recovery rate against the 32 kw ideal vogue (ask Tom if you don't believe me) play nice now while I am gone!

Not really off to a lesbians engagement party, conversion time!
