I find yorkshire copper the nicest to work with,it doesn't seem to throat but some of the french stuff it horrible.I'm sure the BS Kitemark is some chinese symbol meaning"wha you wan for dis cost"

Some of the stuff I've come across is not that good and other is better, but sometimes you get stuck for supplies when out on a job, so have to take what you can get. My local merchant is fine, however we were doing a shower last month and I was stuffed for a 'shop' nearby. After much driving around, found a merchant but no-idea what the stock source was. I wonder if the merchants could be persuaded to plug the fact that their tubing is 'the real thing' if we (users) make our voices heard when we buy at the counter??

Sorry, to differ on my first posting in the pub, but you have to know how to use the French tube, its not meant for your delicate little "pinkies", you have to be a man,:p to be able to use it
First its 1mm wall thickness, even sizes only (6/8,10/12 ID/OD etc) comes in 5 mtr lengths, and is dead hard in temper, you could pull your balls off almost before the tube will bend, a quick slap and tickle with the torch will soon anneal the tube, use an external spring to bend the tube, or if its a short enough length sand load the tube, I bet that you haven't heard of a vice bend, rather like the old forge bending of iron barrel, you can get some realy dead tight bends like this, on 10/12mm size tube, get the portion of the tube you want to bend red hot, then start to bend it when it shows signs of swelling on the sides of the tube place the bent part of the tube in a vice just close the jaws of the vice a tiny fraction on the tube to stop the tube from swelling out sideways
