Well as some if you know I was thinking starting up my own, well I am going to, but in the mean time I have bagged myself 24hrs a week at Tesco. 4-10 Tuesday-Friday. My new plan is to work their whilst building some money up to buy tools, van etc.... And on my days off and free time trying to grab some small jobs to build my name up in the area! Haven't figured out how the employed/self employed part will work but I will figure it out! Then hopefully the plumbing will take off and I can ditch Tesco, but then again if it doesn't go well I have that job to fall back on!

Good man. I wouldn't mind being a tesco manager, the benefits are fantastic! Well done for not just sitting on your arse waiting for something to happen.

Those are good hours, it means you can do plumbimg jobs in the daytime too!

Apparently the managers are on 30 grand a year.

Nice to hear you got a job while you sort the other stuff out.....hope it all works out for ya

Buy your van first, get it sign written & when it's parked outside tesco for 24 hours a week you just got alot of free, local advertising!

Well done and you're doing the right thing.

Now if you want a mods job.......

Just think of the 'free' biscuits.
My first job was working in a supermarket stacking shelves I spent more time out back eating what took my fancy.

Young & stupid but full up. I didn't last long there.

One of the most sensible posts I think I've read from someone wanting to break into the world of plumbing. With your attitude and outlook I think you'll eventually get to were you want to be.

Best of luck mate!
