That's supposed to be a 75mm gravlon screed?

I thought it was a making good effort after being sliced due to external 5m of flat 21.5 on its arse!

Spending a penny

Found this under the floor of a house we were 1st fixing, this was a live, in-use gas pipe
This isn't a wind up, its genuine
It must have took longer to solder in position than it would have to go to the merchants (1/2 mile away) and get the right fittings

Just in case anyones short sighted, yes it is a one pence piece

Sorry. But I can't make head not tail of this photo?

Could you explain please

Open ended gas pipe? Nah, I'm not sure what the deal is either.

Also, dunno if you can really say this is worthy of the HoS but I haven't come across many bodge's lately:

From top down that's a 6*2 on its side to give sense if scale.
Next is the painted on gyvlon (Lafarge Tarmac screed) always called it gravlon after misquoted a drawing many moons ago. screed, next the clingfilm used instead of a membrane then the insulation then a 28mm gas pipe hacked off to allow shuttering !

So just a tad more than the 75mm depth you were expecting then ? still a good amount of thermal mass now!!

Just worried that it's going to turn into crazy paving all because the builder is an idiot! Said he adjusted it all to suit Lafarge recommendations .... Strange only spoke to Lafarge two days before pour and the sub base , concrete DPC and jablite had been in for some week or two? Me thinks he is a gibbon who cannot measure or calculate such things as ; BOD (bottom of dig ) = FFL - (75 + 150+100+25+150) Gyvlon, jablite, conc, blinding sand , type 1

As for thermal mass it's similar to that of a paper bag and it's inertia could be likened to a carrier bag in a hurricane

As I was re-installing the bath the tenant said the basin water doesn't go down fast.....

I was like......."No s*** sherlock!!"
