if they dont meet your minimum spend rfequirements, why bother, I dont:)

as mentioned earlier everyone either uses the old closure plate or some more expensive zinc sheet, thats all that is required by the regs. Being that modern condensing boilers dont produce a hot exhaust per se, heat shields arent really an issue now, as they arent required coz your guttering and eaves wont melt anymore.

But when the guttering has those little air holes in you have to cover them

Brilliant. If you wouldn't mind dressing that up in posh language, printing it out on 100gsm paper, and binding it into a folder, we can send it to my customer, with a £1200 invoice for technical consultancy. :)

doesnt need protecting as it aint plastic, and ray you owe me 10%, so is it you or williams I make the invoice out to?

Not where he's drilling but I want to cover those air holes running along the eaves as the flue is going to be about 35mm below them

Best way to cover the strip vent is to use a flat piece of PVC from the window suppliers place

Regarding the heat issue what about a heat resistant spray paint? I need to do a wall hung oil boiler with flue close to soffit.

I haven't asked grant so will give them a call..
