Heating problem.........

Sealed system or open vent (little tank in loft).

I'm presuming open vent. Is there water in the little tank in the loft?

Touch the pipes coming out of the top of the boiler

I assume if the fires on in the boiler and making the normal heating up sound it's fired up ...which is what it's doing but is there any other way of checking..?

Easiest way to check is by looking through the little inspection hole on the boiler case. When the boiler isn't on you should see the little pilot light flickering away. When the boiler is on you should see lots of blue flames shooting upwards.

Bit more info..
I've just advance the heating and hot water, boiler fired up but when I looked through the inspection hole there was just this flame....

As I was looking I noticed it clicking trying to light more flames but they wouldn't light..

Monitor it, if you see it keeps firing up and going out soon after it's possibly a circulation issue.

A service call is needed here by a GSI to check out the fault? there appears to be a leak on the 3 port valve which needs sorting out I would check the motorised valve is operating properly and the other controls . Kop

Put a long screwdiver to your ear and place it on the pump body, you should hear it spinning

Unfortunately this doesnt always tell you 999, I had one this morning & the shaft was broken but it sounded okay.

Thought I would pop back and let you know what the problem was, it was the circuit board at the bottom of the boiler.
All seems fine now.
