Hello from a new member.
I'm hoping to pick up some useful advice from the experienced tradesmen on here as I'm considering replacing my current combi boiler.
My present combi isn't dead yet but it is certainly showing signs of its age (15 years). Its a Worcester Bosch 350.
For a year or so we've had a problem where it cuts out occasionally and requires restarting via the reset button.
In addition, both the CH and hot water temperatures are lower than they used to be.
We've had it checked and according to the engineer the incoming mains gas pressure is not quite up to spec, but also there is a slight loss of pressure from the gas valve.
British Gas replaced the incoming supply regulator but our engineer said the supply pressure was still a bit low (fluctuating around 17-18 millibars?)
He said the cutting-out problem could be due to a faulty overtemp cut-out switch but the lower temperature could be due to a faulty gas valve or 'furred-up' pipes.
I haven't helped the situation by neglecting it regarding servicing, so I can't complain. I'm just resigning myself to the likelihood that I'll need to replace it soon and therefore doing a bit of reading up on the subject.
