We're visiting London from abroad, and are staying in a friend's house. Yesterday morning we found the hot water had run out (eg runs cold from the hot taps). We thought we had just used up the hot water in the cylinder by doing our washing. But a day later, still no hot water.
Any ideas on what might be wrong and how we can fix it?
Any suggestions gratefully received!
 
the panel looks like the image on the right - the white one.
i don't think the boiler has fired up (i don't have a boiler at home, so I'm not familiar with these beasts).
no indicator lights on the boiler.
 
Yes regarding hole and flame ... we're getting to a point where you're gonna need someone around I feel nigel. Where abouts in London are you? General area will help, there might be someone on here local to you.
